Polished 5* Hilton hotel in central Florence

Anglo American Hotel Florence, Curio Collection By Hilton, Italy

Property details

A refined five-star hotel close to Florence’s central station, perfect for city breaks - includes breakfast, a welcome drink, and late check-out
  • Classically Florence: The Anglo American Hotel Florence, Curio Collection By Hilton is situated close to the centre of Florence, on a quiet street set back from the river Arno. Its setting is easily walkable from Florence’s top sights and is just far enough out of the city centre that it feels removed from the hustle and bustle of the 'centro storico'. The hotel opened in spring 2024 and is cool, calm and contemporary - perfect for a quick city break or a long stay in the Renaissance city.

  • Soak up the sun: The design of the hotel is based around a quiet, central open-air courtyard which is sun-drenched in the summer months and the perfect spot for a glass of Tuscan red or an Aperol spritz with a soundtrack of jazz and soul music. Whisper Wine Bar offers the ideal place to unwind, while the on-site restaurant, Vivi Bistro, offers Florentine-style fine dining including local cheese and salumi, as well as a bountiful breakfast.

  • Sleek design: The building was built in 1892 and was one of the first hotels in Florence, hosting illustrious guests such as Leo Tolstoy and Maria Callas. The redesign is heavily influenced by the hotel’s heyday of the Twenties and Thirties - very Tea with Mussolini - with Art Deco stylings, curved lines and 1920s art on the walls. The rooms are super stylish, decked out in elegant furnishings and fan motifs.

How to get there

The Anglo American Hotel Florence is about 10 minutes’ walk from the city’s Santa Maria Novella station, which has services from all over Italy. Florence’s international airport is about 20 minutes’ drive outside of the city; Pisa’s airport has a wider range of flights and is about one hours’ drive or 90 minutes by train.

Via Solferino, 6, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy

Florence’s narrow streets serve as an open-air museum: this Renaissance city overflows with historic monuments, famous statues and incredible museums stuffed to the brim with masterpieces. History buffs will relish staring up at the towering ‘real’ David, in the Galleria dell’Accademia (and his many copies, dotted throughout the city), rubbing the bronze nose of Il Porcellino and crossing the Ponte Vecchio in search of gold.

For shopaholics, all the big designer labels are here, including the famous Florentine shoemaker Salvatore Ferragamo – the store has its own museum with rotating exhibitions, in the basement. Wandering the city streets unveils the city’s history – from the soaring dome of the Duomo to the checkerboard face of the Basilica di Santa Croce – as well as its staggering gastronomy; there’s no better way to explore than with an artisan gelato in hand.
